Chris POV

I walked sullenly to the restaurant looking gloomy like always. Today is just going to be like every other day where I will attend to customers, receive my pay and head back home.

The rest of the workers always make fun of me because I only have three clothes with a pair of shoes.

I can't buy clothes and shoes for myself because I have to pay my house rent and light bill.

Sometimes I just get fed up and feel like ending my life, but I remember the saying; "where there is life, there is hope" and that has kept me going till now.

I walked slowly to the restaurant and greeted my manager. After that, I went to the changing room to change my dress.

"He's here! The king is here" one of the workers said sarcastically

"Welcome Your Royal Majesty" another one greeted with a mock bow

I sighed ignoring them and started work for the day.

"Why can't you answer our greeting? Have you suddenly gone deaf and dumb?"

"I wonder why the manager hasn't even sacked him yet, he has never done anything right"

"What are you doing when you're supposed to be working?" the manager asked coming in

They scurried over to their respective duties and the work for the day began. Thank goodness the manager came in time, I really don't know why they hate me so much.

Pardon my manners, let me introduce myself! My name is Chris Rodriguez. My parents died when I was five years old and I lost my memories. At least that's what I was told, it's not like I remember a thing.

I don't even remember the face of my parents probably because I lost my memories. Ever since then, I lived in the orphanage along with other kids who had no parents or relatives.

The orphanage sponsored our education through highschool, but then something happened to the orphanage and we all left to start a new life on our own.

Enough of my boring life, I really don't like thinking about my ill fate.

We started our work as usual. Some people cook, some wash plates and we attend to customers.

After the day's work, I changed my clothes and collected my pay before heading home with the food I'm going to eat for dinner. One of the benefits of working in a restaurant!

I opened the door to my small one room apartment and went in. Dropping my food on the small table I had, I went to the bathroom and freshened up.

When I got back in, I wore my night clothes and opened my food devouring it hungrily. I only had the chance to eat once today because work was too much.

After I was done eating, I laid on my mattress waiting patiently for sleep to come. I don't have a phone and no one is willing to be friends with a pauper.

Soon enough, I drifted to sleep!

Mitchell's POV

I got into my car and drove home after closing from work. Today is just like every other day. Work, work and work till I almost can't breath anymore.

And now, I have to return to that sick mansion. Can my life ever get any worse?

I'm from a rich family but I don't even feel it. Grandma and Grandpa asked everyone in the family to have a job especially the grandchildren and that's why I'm working.

I work in our company as an accountant and it's really not easy because of how big the company is. I just hate my life!

A quick introduction of myself! I'm Mitchell Campbell, only child of my parents. My father is actually the one from Campbell family while my mom is also from another rich family.

I don't have the right to make choices or decisions for myself because my grandparents make decisions for every single person living in the mansion.

From the food we eat to the clothes we wear and even whom we associate with. Left for me, I wouldn't work in our family company but my grandparents being the dictator asked me to work there.

I've always wanted to be a model and probably a singer but my grandparents were against it so I had to study business.

No one hates his or her life like I hate mine. It will probably be better if I wasn't born into a rich family. Maybe then, I will be able to make decisions for myself.

"What the hell? Do you want to kill me?" I fired at the driver

"I'm really sorry ma'am! The bump on the road was too high and I never knew it was there. They just did it few hours ago" he explained shakily

"Well, keep your goddamn explanation to yourself because you're fired. Get lost" I screamed at him

"Please ma'am, I'm sorry" he pleaded still sitting

I angrily got down from the car and went to the driver's seat. Dragging him off, I got in and drove off.

Oh shit!! Grandma is going to kill me today. She warned me not to fire anyone no matter what happens.

I hit the steering angrily as I turned the car around and drove to the place I left him. Fortunately for me, he was still there.

I rolled my eyes and got down from the car.

"Get in" I ordered and sat at the back seat

"Thank you ma'am" he said with a smile as he got into the car and started driving

Few minutes later, we arrived home! Great! My worst nightmare is here.

"Good evening" I mumbled a greeting as I walked towards the stairs but grandma's voice stopped me

"And who do you think you're greeting that way huh? You just mumbled a greeting and walked past us, is that how a good granddaughter is supposed to behave?

I'm guessing your parents failed to teach you properly, they are always thinking of ways to become richer and nothing else" she concluded while I clenched my fist in anger

Like seriously? Are they going to keep insulting my parents every now and then? What did my parents ever do to them?

"I'm sorry I walked past you but I'm really tired and need to rest so if you'll please excuse me" I said rolling my eyes inwardly and finally took the stairs not listening to any of their calls

I fell on the bed as soon as I got to my room. Gosh! I feel so tired and my grandmother just added to it.

I'm the only granddaughter they complain about in this house and my parents are their only children they complain about too.
