Chapter 1 1
I was in the class hall ruminating on my predicament when my sister, Leah, came to me.
''You should be preparing for tomorrow's party. Look around you; you will see different Luna preparing for the upcoming party, where they will be officially taken before everyone by their various mates.''
''Oh! You're right, dear,'' I responded reluctantly because I was disturbed by my ugly fate.
''So, get up. You haven't even done your hair. Go to the saloon and get your hair attended to. I shall take care of the bills, as a support of your romantic relationship with Alpha Jason'' Leah sweetly said.
I was happy with her. She was my closest sister, who knew me inside and outside. She has been with me through thick and thin, and I'm very sure that she shall walk through the lanes with me until we depart this world.
Though, one of the things that bothered me a lot was the fact that I wasn't as attractive as other lunas. I'm overweight, weighing 73 kg; they all called me 'Fatty.'
Secondly, I was considered to be very weak because I found it very difficult to transform into my wolf. Not that I can't transform, but it usually came with different kinds of pains, which got me scared of ever having the thoughts of being a werewolf.
The last time I shifted into my wolf, it was very painful and tearful for me. It was last year, during the last full moon. On that day, some people whom I can't identify were secretly looking at me. Ever since then, my life has never been the same because I suddenly became the most hated Luna in existence.
Nevertheless, refreshing up and from there, I went to the saloon to style my hair, in the hope of tomorrow's party where I knew I would be brought out by my boyfriend Alpha Jason before everyone.
The next day, at exactly 8:00 pm, everyone was already gathered at the open hall where the party and show were taking place. I nervously entered the hall, it was a big hall with music buzzing, drinks and food. Other Lunas were dressed in beautiful, slim-fitted attires. I looked at my body, my boggy stomach, big arms and sighed.
Before the party, I had previously spoken with my boyfriend who called me on the phone last night.
He told me how much he loved me, and how he felt about me. I was happy with his words and I also expressed my desires and feelings for him. However, he wanted me to come to the show on time so that we would participate on time. This was because he was an Alpha of a strong and mighty pack, and definitely, he would be honored for such before the rest of the participants.
''All Lunas should gather under that shield over there,'' The master of ceremony ordered, as he pointed his fingers towards the supposed direction, and thus, we all went. I could see other Lunas looking at me with disgust.
I looked up and found my lover sitting in the front row. He looked at me without a stain of a smile, and quickly withdrew his face from me. He looked at me again and this time, he frowned his face as if I was dung.
''What's happening? Why was he looking at me like this?'' I asked myself.
Although I don't know the kind of game he was trying to play, I just saw it as his usual way of teasing me.
Amidst the hailing and admiring crowds, the master of ceremony joyfully called on my boyfriend, the Alpha, to pick his mate whom he would spend his life with.
He walked out from where he was and came to the place where all Lunas were being protected.
My heart was joyful and tense, seeing that someone was going to pick me out officially as a mate. All my life, I have been waiting for this ceremony to be held so that I would witness it in its raw form.
Meanwhile, as it was happening in our pack, that was how it was also happening in all packs and thus, many werewolves were patiently watching from the T.V. screen.
I closed my eyes after seeing that my mate was already approaching my side. All eyes were on me because they knew that I was attached to him for a long time. I just really can't take the sweet looks and admiration of the crowd at mll

''What's happening?'' I asked myself after I wasn't feeling the touch of my mate close to me. People were shouting and clapping, but it's been over thirty minutes now, and I was expecting him to lift me by taking my hands to his seat.

A few minutes later, I felt a sharp pain in my chest. I opened my eyes and saw him lifting the hands of Leah, my junior sister.
I was shocked. ''Is this a joke or a dream?'' I asked while shouting.
''It's reality, my dear. Do you think I will bring myself down to select you as an official mate? Can't you see that you're cursed, and most especially, you're an ugly bitch. You expect me to show the world that you are my wife? Look at your sister, slender, pretty with long legs and curves.'' Alpha Jason said to me while looking at me sarcastically.
''What are you saying darling?'' I asked, with tears already dripping down my eyes.
''Stupid girl. You are not supposed to be among us. Your species went extinct thousands of years ago. Look around this crowd and tell me the poor dude who would be interested in you. No one, so, run away, and never return'' He said humiliatingly, making everyone, including my sister, laugh at me.
My tears gushed uncontrollably, I held the hem of my dress and ran out of the hall.
