I look at him with tears in my eyes. I want to beg but no words leave my throat. Slowly he tightens his grip and now he is choking me. I try to claw at his hands so he leaves my neck but nothing happens. I feel my lungs burn and my head spinning. This is the moment. I am going to die. The moment I was going to pass out he loosened his grips and threw me on the bed with a force.

I bounce on the soft bed. I try to breathe as much air as I can. I am breathing heavily. I put my hand on my chest. I try to normalize my breathing but it is not helping. Tears are freely falling from my eyes. I don't dare to look into the king’s eyes. I am afraid of angering the king further.

“This is your life and you have to accept it. You can never leave me. I will never let you go. You will have to spend your whole life with me. This is your destiny. Accept it”. He says with his tone rising with each word. It feels like he wants to embed his words in my mind. I don’t say anything.

“Submit yourself to me”. The king orders angrily. I grip the sheets tightly in my hands. I know what he wants. I will not let him use me again. If I have come this far then I will see what is at the end of this path. I feel a new wave of determination in me.

“If you will not let me, go then I will free myself from this painful life. If leaving the palace is not an option then there is always an option of death and I have chosen it”. I say with determination and sit up in bed.
