CHAPTER ONE

Vera P.O.V

Vera! Vera!! Vera!! Shouted the witch of a mother I have after giving me the beating of my life she still have the mind to call my name out of her bloody mouth

Yes ma...I answered with a bloodshot eyes and a bleeding hand. I came running to her presence

"Why is the floor dirty?? or have you gone blind?? or you are not satisfied with the previous beating you need more right??" Mother said with anger leashing out of her voice

Not that am afraid of any sought is just that I have come to a stage to realise that she like behaving like a monster around me unlike when is around other people

Mom I just finished cleaning it before you smack an heel on my arm it's my blood that gave it that stain but am coming to clean the stained spot. I said expecting worst from her

You are very stupid.you know what start cleaning the house from the scratch and when you are done do the laundry and mind you no food for you for the next two days. Am I understood?? Mom said with a wicked smirk

But mom for the past three days I haven't had a single meal at all

Please mom you can beat me all you want please don't punish me with a meal this time around I don't think I can survive this one one I said with tears in my eyes

Ohh!!! I forgot you didn't had a meal foolish girl. Okay how about we do a deal?

Are you interested in it?? Mom asked me with doubt in her eyes

Ok mom! am in. I said with the last energy in me

Within a twinkle of an eye my mom went inside and came out with alot of bottle at first I thought she wanted me to fill each of the bottles but what she did gave me the shock of my life but right now am left with no option than to give in

Mom broke the bottles into pieces and arrange them on the floor from the garage to the front door of the house after that she told me that I could walk from beginning to the end of the broken bottles

And one thing about mom is that no backing out on your word

So right now am down for, all I think is may God Almighty come to my rescue at this moment

"But mom I can barely walk so it's very impossible to walk on broken bottle I doubt if I will be able to survive it" I said shaking like a frozen chicken with fear written all over my face.

What happened the last time you decided to back off from your word?? She asked with an evil smile.

I was in the kitchen I put a kettle of water on the gas cause I wanted to use it to press my body because of the previous beatings I got from mom all my body was sore from the beating that I doubt if my body really belong to me then the next thing I realise that mom was in the kitchen with me

"Vera what did I ask you to prepare for dinner? Mom asked with a wicked grin on her face.
