Was it really an arranged marriage?
Rishi's Pov,
My mom always told me to respect womens. I think every mother had taught this to their sons. But on this point I didn't listen to my mom. Every human have to do something that deserves to be respectable whether it is a man or woman.
So if she became my wife, it will depend on her attitude if she does something that I could respect her. For now I don't have any for her.
I proposed those conditions because I just want a wife in name and I had given her two chances if she could deny but she agreed. That was under my expectations.
I don't think she is at loss. I had offered enough things that will lure her. I told my mom that I am ready to marry. She was beyond happy. She thought Nisha is the one made for me as I agreed so easily.
After a week, both families set a meeting for the discussion of engagement. My mom asked me to come but I refused. They set the date of engagement after two weeks.
My mom asked for my opinion and I didn't have any problem. It was like a business deal for me. I don't mind finishing it as soon as possible.
Before two days of engagement, my friends arranged a party for me. They are afraid I will become a wife's husband types man so they want to spend some brother's time.
We met in the club at evening. They knew I don't like loud music so they booked a room in the club. As soon as I entered, my four friends were looking at me as if I was an alien.
"Are you really Rishi Sen? You are going to be engaged." Nishant said sarcastically.
I relaxly sat on couch. Nilesh gave me a glass of wine.
"Yo...Congratulations bro. I thought you will marry after all of us. But you are on second number. It's really something unexpected from you." Ritesh said to me.
We all are a group of six friends, Nilesh, Nishant, Ritesh, Ayan , me and our only female in the group Diya. Ayan and Diya were love birds from our college time. After college they married and are living a happy life with each other.
I saw Ayan who was looking at me differently. I looked towards Rohan who was sitting beside Nilesh. He looked at me and everted his gaze. I understood Rohan must have said something to Ayan.
"Rishi, is sister-in-law much beautiful that you even didn't want us to meet" Nilesh said to me.
"You are all invited to my engagement. You can meet her at that time." I said nonchalantly.
"Yo...looks like our legendary Rishi Sen is being possessive." Ritesh said mockingly.
I drank my wine silently. I don't feel anything for my to be future wife.
They all started cheering me and gave me several tips to impress my futute wife.
At around 11 PM, we seperated and went towards our own car. I just sat in backseat of my car when Ayan came and sat beside me. Rohan understandingly went out of the car.
I lit up a cigarette and took a puff. I offered him and he shook his head. I kept it back in my pocket.
"Looks like Diya maintained you quite well. You have changed." I puffed and said with smirk.
"Is it a positive change or negative?" He asked with a smile.
"Ofcourse positive" I replied with a genuine smile.
"Any man adapt changes if he gets a right partner" he said with a deeper meaning.
I nodded.
"Do you really want to marry Rishi?" He asked me with a serious look on his face.
"Or do you think I am joking around?" I replied with a smirk.
He sighed and said, "Rishi, marriage is not a business deal. Don't take it casually."
I looked at him and he continued, "I know about that girl and I am sure you are marrying becoz of your mother's happiness....
I am not judging your decision Rishi, but somehow I feel....she is not the one for you... you know any girl will think hundred times before agreeing to your conditions.... even a gold digger too. But that girl agreed in a single day."
"She agreed readily that's why I am marrying her" I calmly said.
"Forget it.... I hope you will soon receive the happiness you deserve. If you are really happy with her then I will definitely give my blessings to you." He said and smiled genuinely towards me.
He then went to his own car and Rohan sat in passenger seat. He didn't even looked at me probably afraid of being punished.
I looked outside the window as the car drove away. I leaned back on my seat and closed my eyes.
All of them are my good friends but Ayan understands me very well. He cares for me that's why he is worried for me. But I never regretted my decisions.
Soon I reached home and I saw my mom was sitting on couch probably waiting for me.
As soon as I came in hall, she switched off tv and came to me.
"How many times I have to tell you not to wait for me mom?" I said shooking my head.
"Once your wife came, I will not wait for you. She would be waiting for you." She said smilingly and took my jacket.
"Once your wife came, you will be habitual to come on time."
"What if she didn't wait for me?" I asked amusedly.
"Ahha...that won't happen if she loves you." She said shooking her head.
"Mom, you very well know I don't believe in love." I said frustratingly.
Why is everyone around me so much serious about marriage? I really don't want to talk about marriage and love.
"Mom, please....not again" I said with a headache.
"Okay...you will get to know once you fallen in love."
I quickly went upstairs to my room. I quickly bathed and laid on my bed.
What this people are thinking is getting out of my mind... I haven't talked to that girl...what was her name... look I don't even remember my to be future wife's name...
I quickly put this thoughts aside and went to sleep.
