Was it really an arranged marriage?
On the engagement day...
Nisha's pov,
I am so excited today. I am finally going to be engaged to the man for whom every girl would do anything.
Our engagement is fixed in the evening time. I wanted to invite all my friends who judged me once. I definitely wanted to let them know what I deserve but my future-in-laws said they wanted to keep a low profile.
So they only invited few Rishi's good friends and only their family. They didn't invite their other relatives.
From our side, few of my close cousins were invited and Sharma family. Actually they received the invitation from both the families becoz without them this marriage was impossible.
Two days before, my father wanted to call Angel to come for my engagement. Actually my father called her many times before to attend my engagement but she refused saying she have some work in Paris for now and she will definitely attend my wedding.
I definitely don't want her to come at any of my occasions. But she is dearest to my father. I couldn't figure out, what is so special about her that everyone loves her that much.
I smartly asked my mother to stop my father from forcing her to come at my engagement. I definitely have my own insecurities if she will come. I don't want her to grab the limelight that belongs to me.
We are now going to the venue of engagement. This time also my bua's family arranged everything for my engagement. Actually Sharma family treated our family very well.
As soon as we reached the venue, I saw the decorations. It was decorated like a royal gathering. I couldn't believe my eyes. I always wanted it like this.
Soon my bua came to me and smilingly asked me, "do you like it?"
I nodded and smiled.
"But bua how do you know I want something like this?" I asked with confusion as I never told her about my liking.
She smiled and looked towards my mom. I understood my mom would have told her. My mom side hugged me.
Soon I met my in-laws. My mother-in-law is so sweet. She talks to me like I am her daughter. I liked her very much. After that I met my small sister-in-law Rhea who was very excited to meet me. I couldn't believe I will be able get this one day. It was all like a dream.
After that my mother-in-law took me to stage and soon engagement ceremony began.
My heart was beating faster as I stood beside him. When my mother-in-law asked him to wear ring on my finger, I quickly raised my left hand. He took the ring and weared it on my finger without holding my hand. I was somewhat disappointed.
When my mother asked me to wear him the ring, he raised his hand. I was about to hold his hand when he slightly took it back. I looked at him and he looked at me with those cold eyes. I understood and I wear him the ring also without touching his hand.
Everyone came and congratulated us. We received so many gifts and my disappointed gradually dissipated.

Rishi's pov,
From morning, my mom was expecting me to be excited or nervous or happy but I was expressionless. My mom even told me that I am not a normal person.
There was nothing in my heart or in my mind. I just wanted to finish it as soon as possible. Even for the guests, I asked my parents to keep it a low key.
After we exchanged our rings, everyone cheered and congratulated us. Other than us, there were also Sharma family.
They had arranged all our engagement.
Soon they all danced together celebrating our engagement. My mom and her mom asked us for a couple dance.
I only looked at her and she denied to dance. I don't know what reason she told them to believe but they didn't forced us to dance.

Nisha's pov,
His friends congratulated us and asked us to toast them to celebrate.
We soon reached the wine area but before we could even touch the wine, my mom stopped us saying it's not good for me and Rishi to drink on our engagement.
Damn...their rules.
Everyone came to us and talked to us. He didn't answer them quite well but I did.
"Rehana, I have heard about your niece, I mean Inayat's daughter, where is she?" My mother-in-law asked aunt Rehana, uncle Kishan's wife.
"Our Angel is in Paris for studies. She had something urgent in her hand so she didn't come." Aunt Rehana replied smilingly.
There was adoration in her eyes while talking about Angel. Angel is the name I didn't want to listen atleast on my engagement. But Sharma's are incomplete without her.
"I have quite heard that she is the only daughter in your family. I wanted to meet her." My mother-in-law sweetly said.
"Yes, she is the only daughter in our family. My father-in-law didn't have sister and my mother-in-law gave birth to three sons. I and Sona gave birth to sons. And only sister-in-law Inayat gave birth to a daughter. So she is the only daughter in our three generations."
"Yeah, daughters are precious."
"You know my son Ishaan is two months younger than Angel. When he was born, I and Kishan asked Inayat dii to exchange our kids as we always had a wish for a daughter....
But later my mother-in-law denied our thought. So even though Inayat dii gave birth to Angel, Angel is considered the daughter of all three brothers. She is actually an Angel to our family." Aunt Rehana said with face full of adorations.
I was getting irritated by listening their talks. Even if she didn't come, she will not let me celebrate my happiness.
I don't know but I have some insecurities. What if Rishi is attracted towards Angel...
No, that will not happen. I will never let that happen. But what can I do?
I looked at Rishi who was talking to his friends, I just love him. Yes, I love him. I don't want to lose him. Never.
