June was miraculously saved from her boss who was trying to kill her. Damian bought her and took her to a party organized for Eddie, the young king to be. She was to be killed after the party. Uncle Jefferson or Jeff, Eddie's father's brother and beta, talked Eddie into going to the party as he was reluctant. At the party, June and Eddie both discovered they were destined mates and Eddie promised to protect her against the tradition of killing slaves that were elites' mates. Gina,Eddie's sister, advised Eddie to take June out on a date to make her feel comfortable. Unknown to Eddie that Gina was planning to expose his secrets to Uncle Jeff. June was locked up by Jeff and Eddie was made the king. Eddie as the king ordered June to be freed and be made Luna, surprising Jeff who thought Eddie had changed his mind about June. During June's ceremony to become Luna, an enchantment was discovered in June's closet in Eddie's apartment, which Gina claimed was planted by June. She professed that June was using it to control Eddie and she proved with a recording of June's voice vowing to punish all elites. Jeff forbade Eddie from giving orders as he was believed to be under influence of magical spell. Jeff sentenced June to death, he claimed the use of spell on the king was like attacking the king and that it would be regarded as treason. Eddie visited June in her prison cell and promised to set her free but June told him he would be causing himself more problems. Eddie consulted Damian on how June could be saved. Damian contacted Reid,a wizard from Lander's family, a family that was always against Eddie's family. At an agreed price and assurance of escaping, Reid accepted to put himself under the bus. Reid got himself caught in the Fort. He confessed he was trying to control June's mind to get to the Alpha King. June was freed and Reid jailed. After June was acquitted, Gina who couldn't bear it inflicted a curse on her. The spell unleashed June's special power and Gina was affected by her own spell. Jeff administered the great remedy that could cure the Alpha's bloodline of any affliction to her but it didn't work. It was later revealed that Gina was not a daughter of the late Alpha. She is not from the Alpha's bloodline. Feeling humiliated, she left the Fort and eventually met Harold, who healed her of her affliction. Gina made herself an enemy of the Fort and vowed to bring it down at all cost and take the throne for herself. Reid came to Gina asking for her assistance to steal the Drobe, a powerful magical artifact, from the Fort. He revealed that he only accepted Eddie's offer to get an opportunity into the Fort to steal the Drobe but he was not successful. Gina aided him and they stole the Drobe as planned. Gina later killed him to have the Drobe to herself. Alpha Eddie and Lana were warned by Jeff that a great evil would befall them unless they recovered the Drobe personally. Gina took the Drobe to Tara, a witch to turn it into a weapon that only her could wield. After Tara converted the Drobe into a shiny necklace, she told her to take the necklace to a far away shrine where the rites would be completed. After finding out Gina's whereabouts, Alpha Eddie and June went to lie in wait for Gina at the shrine. Gina came and revealed to them that they had been deceived. Jeff was her real father and was also not Eddie's uncle as they thought. He had send them to their deaths so that Gina would become the Alpha King. Alpha Eddie and June were taken away by Gina's men to where they would be killed. At the point of death, June defeated them all with her strange power. Gina was made the Alpha king. As the celebration went on. Alpha Eddie and June sneaked back into the Fort. They defeated Jeff and Gina to take back the throne.
It wasn't really easy for life to escape from someone. June kept gasping heavily hoping she would breathe her last immediately but the time kept moving on.
She had become tired from straining, trying to touch the ground beneath her. She remained loosely hanged with both hands tied together and chained to the roof of the bar.
Her boss, Sanit, sat right in front of her, drinking his wine slowly. He had already promised her death.
She just wanted him to get on with it.
"Hello, man. This is where you at" Damian, Sanit's friend and business associate came in. He moved a chair to sit beside him.
"I'm right here, Damian" Sanit responded slowly and drank a sip from his cup.
"You have a lot of weird ways of enjoying yourself, man" Damian pointed at June.
June slightly looked away. She was dealing with a devil before now there were two devils to deal with. She believed Damian was as brutal as his friend.
"I am not enjoying myself. I am becoming more sadder the more I looked at this thing" Damian poured a glass, he threw the wine on June's almost naked body.
"Isn't that wasting a bit of good wine?" Damian shifted the bottle to a place Sanit's hand couldn't reach.
"No. I am going to kill her but before that. She will beg for her life to end" Sanit confessed.
"Is that why you tied her to the roof?" Damian chuckled. "And how long do you plan on watching her before that will break her?" he laughed.
"Are you saying this is not enough to break her?" Sanit asked eagerly.
"You won't believe how long these slaves could last. They are stronger than you can imagine. Though they are not very handy but their perseverance is innate, to them" he was obviously going to suggest a harder punishment for June.
June sighed, she didn't blink. She thought that might make what she wanted, death, to come faster.
"You speak the truth, friend. It has been up to two hours that she has been like this and all I am getting since, was soft groans" Sanit stood up and faced June. "So what do you suggest I do to make her feel the pangs of what she has done?" he asked.
"Why not let us start by tying her to the roof with her legs instead" he drank from the bottle.
"You mean I should turn her upside down?" Sanit smirked. He obviously thought that was a good idea.
"There are still numerous ways of giving her pains" Damian belched. "Depending on the gravity of what she did" he waved a finger.
"She made me lose a lot of money" Sanit shook his head to show severity.
"When you have turned her upside down. You can get a bucket filled with water, enough to reach her eye level" Damian continued effortlessly like he was really enjoying himself.
"Damian, I don't want her to die yet" Sanit reminded him.
"The greatest pain is death. You can make it slow but all these that I've mentioned won't kill her" he stood up and moved to Sanit's side, he leaned over his body. "Get a horse whip and do what you enjoy most. It is very simple" he added, laughing.
"That is really good" Sanit brought out a knife, he cut the rope holding June while she plunged to the floor with a heavy thud. He stood over and watched her for some minutes.
"You feeling pity for her already?" Damian questioned.
"She doesn't have much left. She will die before I overturned her" he explained.
"Then save yourself the stress. Just whip her to death right where she is. I will be very happy to help with that" he professed.
Sanit went into the inner room and returned sharply with a long whip.
June was familiar with the whip. This wouldn't be the first time it would land on her back and leave imprints. She remained silent ready to embrace her fate.
Damian reached for his pocket. He brought out a ringing cellphone. He kept staring at it like he couldn't see well.
"Who is this?" he answered the call. "Oh, it is actually tomorrow night. I will get them" he paused to hear out whoever he was with on the phone. "What do you mean disposable?" he asked anxiously. "They might be killed" he nodded. "Condemned to death. Of course" he sighed and ended the call.
"And who is that, and what the hell are you talking about, disposable?" Sanit inquired.
"I think I am in need of your barmaid" Damian moaned softly.
"You mean this same one that I'm about to kill?" Sanit held up June's head.
"She is condemned to death, right?" Damian took her from him.
"I told you she caused me a lot of pain and I want her to suffer the same fate" Sanit seemed not to agree with him.
"No. You said she made you lose a lot of money" Damian brought out his wallet. "What do you say, she fetch you a lot of money at the same time, she will be out of your life. Good deal?" he brought out some money and offered it to him.
"When did you start the business of disposable werewolves?" Sanit took the money, counted it.
"You don't really need to count, you are not losing anything" Damian implied.
"It's a good deal, man. But I must confess, I always enjoying punishing June" he divulged.
"June?" Damian nodded. "That's her name, lovely. You just have to pretend she is dead" he whispered.
"You are going to kill her?" Sanit asked remorsefully.
"Like you wanted to do. And you can't buy her back. I'm sorry" Damian asserted and turned to June. "Can you still stand on your feet?" he asked calmly.
June quickly rose up. She wanted to die a little while ago but seeing the evil Damian becoming her savior. Her hope to live was renewed.
"Good girl. Let's go" he urged her.
June walked slowly in front of him, she kept looking back like he would hurt her. She caught Sanit watching her with regret as she was leaving.
A thought erupted in June's mind. This is an opportunity to escape from slavery. All she had to do was to elude Damian.
