When Air Becomes Wind

Let me tell you a story, of how I got here, from being so poor, called ugly to working countless jobs,  to get where I am, a CEO and married to a smoking hot Husband, Where to begin!? 

Ace pov

  I woke up, and did my business. Brushed my teeth, then did my normal skin care routine. Untill I was interrupted by my flat mate, who decided to scream in her sleep. I walked over to her “Evie, get up, Evie get up?!” I attempted  again to wake her up. To my surprise she didnt budge, and continued sleeping. I looked up and asked the heavens, as to why I have a meaningless life, stuck with a flat mate, whom likes to scare the shit out of me.! 

It became clear to me that. , she was in deep with her dreams that she didn’t respond, so I continued with my skin care routine. It was 6 am, and I have an interview in 2 hours for a job at a cafe, near our apartment.

Evie is my best friend from childhood, even though she came from a wealthy family, she chose to be beside me after graduating, and here we are 2 years later, our friendship grew more stronger,by living together fresh out of college! Before finishing getting dress, I looked at myself in the mirror, and sighed and once again cursing as how ugly I looked. But never did it clouded my ego to get a job and prepared for what this day brings. Before rushing out the door , to my surprise Evie was up, she gave me a puzzled looked “Ace, where you going at this time?, did I talk in my sleep again?” 

I stood there taken aback, I responded with a puzzling look “yes,yes you did. This time you freaked me out, you screamed this time” 

She sat there, for a very long time before she spoke “sorry Ace. Oh that’s right, your going for an interview right? Is it that cafe that just opened ?,near our apartment ?” I nodded and waved her goodbye.

I walked out of our apartment and strolled down the street. As I was walking towards the cafe, a lavish and expensive black Lamborghini pulls up, outside the cafe I was heading to. Before crossing the road, I stared at the Lamborghini, as the door opens , my jaw dropped when I saw this smoking hot guy get out of the Lamborghini , tall about 6 feet 9, a well build with muscles to die for wearing a nude top right displaying his abs in every way with jeans that sculpt his body so nicely. As I was staring; I didn’t realised at that time, he was looking directly at me to.

I entered the cafe, while walking to the counter to let them know I’m here for my interview, my eye gradually scanned the cafe, don’t ask why I did that, I guess it was curiosity. Our eyes met and I stood there, looking like an utter fool. I quickly gave him a fake smile gesture and he nods and send me a smirk smile. I stood there in dazed. What was that smile? I thought to  myself. As I sat there, awkwardly trying to avert myself looking at him again, a stunning lady  came to my aid. “Hi, I’m Jade, I’m manger here at the sandwhich club, you must be Ace? Here looking for a Job, right?” I quickly got up and approach as quick as I can “Hi Jade, yes, I’m Ace. And yes, I’m here for your position you advert!” If there was a bomb, I wish it struck this specific spot, I was so nervous , I almost fainted.! “Nice to meet you Ace!” 

“How bizarre, that your names Ace! Okay, getting straight to the point, are you able to work 5 days a week?, and maybe weekends if called on?” 

“Yeah, I get that a lot, and yes I can and no problem, weekends are fine also!” As we discussed when I’ll be starting, I kept feeling that someone was still staring at me, I turned to look where he was sitting and sure enough, he was starring,

properly confused and maybe disgusted by the way I looked to him, knowing how handsome he is and let’s not forget his emerald green eyes. 

“Ace, are you still with me?” 

“Hmmm, huh, oh sorry. Yeah I’m listening.” 

“I would like to start you tomorrow, 7am sharp, clock off at 3pm, I’d like you to stay for an extra hour today, so can introduce you to our stuff, if you are in no rush!”

I must be that ugly that he won’t stop staring!

“Yup that’s absolutely fine!” 

Jade suddenly stoped talking and quietly pointed me to where we going. As I follow Jade into the kitchen , I kept wondering why a smoking hot guy that’s properly a billionaire, came here to a small town? As my thoughts run wild, I got interrupted by Jade once again asking if I was listening. 

Jades POV

I’m beginning to wonder if this new girl, Ace is the one he was looking for ? As I was interviewing her, I could sense her uneasiness. I quickly glance at him, sure enough he was looking! Hmmm I wonder if it’s her? 

5mins into chatting with her, I hired her. There’s something this girl has that makes me want to be bffs with her. I’m glad I was the one who interviewed her even though Evie the spoil brat, not that I’m complaining as I too have a fair share, asked my older brother to hire her best friend. I never liked her, she was always demanding things from my brother let alone engaged to him. After telling Ace to come with me to meet everyone, I was surprise he was still sitting there hmm wonder if he’s waiting for my older brother too. I introduce her to everyone and she smiled and shook everyone’s hand. After finishing off the paper work with Ace and seeing her off. I approach him.”Hey handsome, what are you doing here all of a sudden? Are you waiting for someone, something ? If it’s me you waiting for, your too kind, may I take a seat?” He’s my cousin, first cousin as we speak, we grew up together, so we all treat each other as siblings but I look at him and duke as stuck up idiots

Damian POV 

I got out of my car after, driving a few hours from my home in the city, I finally arrived . When I got close to the cafe, I notice someone starring as I look over across the road. she was standing there,looking at my direction, she was wearing a nice floral dress that showed her cleavage a little, just a over he knees the dress falls nicely showing me how nice her legs are,  As I remember, she’s one stunning and beautiful girl. I shut my door to my Lamborghini adjusted my shirt and entered the cafe, little did I know she was coming in as well. As I looked at her going to the counter, I couldn’t help but acknowledge the beauty that’s standing before me. I couldn’t help myself so I just stared at her. Hoping that she won’t look at me. Untill I heard Jade come out of the kitchen talking to her. Oh she was here for an interview. I hope when I approach her, she won’t refuse me. But for now I am going to get comfortable with my new life here. Oh so I thought. 

I was observing her getting interviewed to Jade taking her to meet everyone. And then she departs the building while Jade walked over my way , shit where is Duke when you need him. Now I’ll have to explain to my little cousin as to why I’m here. Damn it ! 

Jade “hello earth to Damian, are you there?” 

“Oh sorry, Jade. Yes present. Haha. I was thinking about something, forgive me for my rudeness. By the way, Jade where is Duke?” Before she could answer me, he bolts in the front door, chanting and happy. Oh boy here we go!! 

Duke“why hello, my fellow cousin/bestfriend/soon to be my best man. What brings you back Home away from the city dear cousin?” 

Damian “do you have to greet me like that every time we meet? I suppose you have been busy?” 

I was trying my best to look pass him, wondering which direction she went to but was to late she left already. 

Duke”What brings you here Damian? Heard your business is flowing greatly, to what we owe this pleasure of your return? Perhaps an invitation to your proposal to what’s her name? Lindsay, Britney or Bethany ? Haha” 

Damian”very funny bean bag, I came back to get away from the city for awhile as for the names you have mention, they bore me so left it as that! Nothing to pride about, they were just flings, by the way speaking of proposal, how’s your proposal going? Have you asked her yet, or cat  caught your tounge?” 

Me and Duke were pretty much like brothers, as I’m the eldest and so is he. And we both have 2 younger sisters. Our fathers are brothers, hence why the formality’s are out the window when we see each other, even though we are well known and respected family we tend to keep to ourselves.
