She was a fire, and I wished that I would never have played with it. Because just like Bob Seger once said, you start with fire, and you lose the flame. The ashes smolder, but the warmth is soon gone; you end up cold and lonely on your own. After all, loving you is a losing game!! *** I could tell by her father's face that he was not a great fan of mine. Not after knowing I was involved in my dad's illegal business. And I was thankful that It was Klaus who was interested in his daughter because if I would have been the one, then he would have clearly REJECTED me no matter how many good qualities I possess. This man hated my type of work with passion which indirectly indicated that he was an honest officer. Even after knowing all this, I fell in love with her younger sister, aka his younger daughter!!

Saira's POV
.
Monday Morning!!
My elder sister's alarm rang loudly in my head. I turned a little and nuzzled her to make her realize that she had to go to the office.
"Di.."
"I don't want to go to the office.", She whined, covering her face with the pillow. Actually, she loved going to the office until her boyfriend disappeared without saying anything to her for a week and even his number was switched off. That's why she was saying this.
"Well, you have to. And not to forget, you also have to talk with hotty (her boyfriend) about my job as a waitress.", I said, on which she removed the pillow from her head.
"I would have done that last week itself if he would have graced me by showing his face.", She muttered, rolling her eyes.
"It's not that he has left forever. So, give him some time and don't act like a desperate woman.", I said, pushing her from the bed so that she wouldn't get late for the office.
Once she left, I had nothing to do except getting bored at her place. Oops! Where were my manners!
I didn't introduce myself, did I?
'I'm Saira, Saira Singh Rathore. I'm 18 and have finished high school. Currently, I'm in Melbourne with my sister and my mother, enjoying my vacation because once my result will be out, I will have to fight with other competitive exams to get into a good college.'
Currently, coming back to my situation, I wanted to spend my days exploring the whole city, in fact, the whole of Australia, but at the same time, I couldn't ask for money from my father or sister for that because they already have a lot of things in their plate. That's was I was thinking of getting a job so that I could handle my expenses on my own, but since I was not qualified enough, so there was no way I was going to get a decent job in MNCs. The best I could find was the job of a waitress, on which my sister, Falak, denied it, saying she would first talk with her boyfriend Klaus Martinez, who was one of more richest bachelors in the country.
I inwardly prayed to God to send him back to the office so that they could just talk about my job because I was literally getting bored by binge-watching throughout the day.
****
In Evening!
I was lazily lying on the couch playing games on my phone. That was when I heard the ding sound of the elevator. I checked the time on the mobile instead of lifting my head to check who that person could be.
As this apartment was fully secured, and there was no way anyone could come inside it just like that.
"So, you are back, di.", I said, without looking at her. "Did hotty come office today?"
"Sairraaa.", Mom scolded me again for calling my future brother in law as hotty.
"I will stop calling him hotty when after di's marriage, Mom.", I said, playing the games. "Well, there is nothing wrong in calling him 'hotty' because he is HOT."
"Thank you for the compliment, Beautiful.", I jolted, hearing a familiar voice, and quickly sat on the couch, closing my phone. I grinned widely seeing the face of the person whom I had been missing for a week, just like my sister, but there was a difference in our feelings, of course, she was missing him because she loved him while I was missing him because, in this country, mom and di had given him the authority to take the final decision about my job of a waitress.
I quickly left the couch and hugged him happily. "I missed you so much."
He chuckled before speaking, "I believe that you have your own reason for missing me."
I broke the hug and gave him my favorite mischievous smile. "So, what do you say? Can I work as a waitress? Hmm?"
"Saira, at least let him sit first.", Mom scolded again. "And bring a black coffee for him just like he likes.", she added, making me realize that I needed to wait for a while before my conversation with him about my job.
****
After half an hour!!
"So, now! There is YES from your end, right?" I asked, crossing my fingers.
"I'm sorry to break your heart, but it's a NO.", he said, on which I looked at him, showing my puppy eyes.
"Pleaseeeee, hotty! I..."
"I'm not finished yet!", He said, cutting me in between. "All I'm saying is NO for your job as a waitress. It's not that anything is wrong with that job; still, it will be much better if you will work where we can keep an eye on you all the time."
"I didn't get you.", I muttered in confusion. "What do you mean by 'keep an eye on you all the time'?" I asked.
"That means you will work in my company."
"But I didn't know A B C D of any work. Any head will definitely kick me out for knowing nothing.", I reminded him.
"Exactly, that's why you will be the assistant of your own very sister and will be working under her. In this way, no one will scold you, or no one will kick you out except her boss.", he explained.
"And how much will I get paid?" I asked, showing him my tongue. I knew I shouldn't have been asked this question, but there was nothing wrong with asking this question to my future brother-in-law.
He sighed before replying, "AUD$4500."
I was offered AUD$3700 in the job as a waitress, plus tips for whatever I would earn from the customer. So, I believe this offer was not bad either. Moreover, it was not that I had to pay my living expenses because all those would be born by di, right?
"I'm in.", I agreed. "But before that, I need to buy formal clothes because I don't have any.", I added.
"Falak has a lot of formal dresses, and the size of you two is almost the same. So, there is no use in wasting money unnecessarily.", Mom said, on which I looked at di, asking her to help me, please.
"Mom, let her buy at least 2-3 dresses. This is her first official job so let her have some memories of it. It's not that she does shopping every month." Di stepped in like my savior.
"Okay, fine. But only two dresses."
"Three, please.", I requested.
"Fine, only three."
That night I couldn't sleep because of my excitement. I didn't exactly remember the last in life when I had had to look forward to a new day, maybe when I was going to school for the first day.
'Office, there I come.', I mentally screamed.
