Lotus of Broken Seed

Lotus woke up feeling lost like she had been feeling for the past days, weeks and months. Everything seemed bleak, bleary, and monotonous, and she couldn't help but wonder how everything crumbled in one day. Lotus felt her world had come to an end and she was just waiting for the thick hands of time to take her. One moment she was excited to hear her alarm wake her, now she hoped her eyes would be closed forever. She remembered the day she said "I do" to her husband and how it marked the beginning of her doom. Her mother had asked her if she was sure about him, he looked too good to be true.

Her questions: “Are you sure about him? Have you prayed about him?” kept ringing in her ears. She ignored the red flags blinded by love. Lotus sighed as she got out of bed, and walked downstairs with her hair disheveled and wearing the same blouse she had worn for a week. She wasn't even sure if she had taken her bath in the past week. She hadn't even gone out in months.
